Started with a very sore throat last Saturday evening with a feeling of being congested blocked nose etc
Wasn't too bad until Wednesday when the coughing started..worse in the evening and through the night so getting hardly any sleep
Since Wednesday I have a completely blocked nose, cough is dry but I have phlegm I can feel my lungs and chest blocked but I can't bring it up whatever I do
Ribs are sore from coughing..tried loads of ginger lemon honey tea, rinsing with salt water, Vicks, hot water, nothing helping and worried I might need antibiotics but hey it's the weekend and can't get a doctor appointment anyway
Tips please 🙏🏻

Urgh sorry you are feeling grim too. So wiped out today and am not getting up today ! Having chicken broth soup atm but now have lovely headache to add to everything else as I think when I did doze did so awkwardly.
Really fucked iff with this now. I'm not feverish so think this really is viral. Def not covid as have tested 3 times now so just old fashioned virus !

How are you feeling, OP? Sounds like what I’ve had. I’m into week four now. My nasal symptoms have finally stopped and I’m getting more hours when I feel better, but then the coughing hits again. I’m so over it!

@TurningtheLightOff yes I'm the same nasal symptoms finally cleared which is a relief and whilst the coughing is not as bad as a few weeks ago it's still there..random coughing fits, waking up choking and not much sleep must be four weeks now or near as..fed up too

Sorry you’re still feeling crappy. This is the longest I’ve had a single sickness for and I’m surprised how it’s lingered. I’m hoping this is nearing the end now!

Codeine helps to suppress coughs. Co-codamol for a couple of days will help.

Rasam if you have an Indian takeaway that will deliver. If not juice of half a lemon, half a stock cube, couple of slices of ginger and a big dollop of chilli sauce, stick it in a mug and add hot water. Sip it slowly and expect to need a lot of tissues.
