Benenden question

Hi all,

I'm thinking of starting a Benenden membership as I've read some good things about them on here.

I do have a question, though. They have a limit of £2,500 for diagnostic tests. I don't know what such tests are likely to cost, but I do have pets and know that for them £2,500 would not go far.

Has anybody had an issue with this? I'm not expecting to suddenly need complex diagnostic tests, but obvs the point of taking out Benenden membership would be in case something like that unexpectedly came up. I don't think there's such a limit for the treatment itself, but is the limit on diagnostic tests realistic?

Thanks for any help 👍

I have been a member for years. I used them last year for heart investigations and ended up having to pay £450. They do tell you how much it's all going to cost though so you can decide whether to continue with them or switch to NHS. For me it was worth paying that amount to get it done quickly.

I’ve had it for years and think it’s a great service. I’ve had various tests, CT, MRI, ultrasound, bladder examination along with consultant consultation and never had to pay extra.
