Head scan in the evening

Hi,
I've been to see my GP this morning and been told to go to A&E with a letter from him asking to perform a head scan to make sure nothing sinister is going on in my head.
I won't be able to go until 6pm and I wonder if by the time I'm seen by a clinician they will have appropriate staff to perform the scan? In the middle of the night? Any experience with a similar issue anyone? Thank you.

Why can’t you go until this evening? If my gp told me to go to a&e I’d be going immediately.

Sorry, forgot to answer the question. At our hospital we’d be told to come back the next day because things like scans only get done during clinic hours. At my parents local hospital they’re done 24/7 because it’s a major trauma centre.

If you doctor asks you to go A&E op, you go A&E straight away, what is more important your leaving it till 6pm?
