Anyone know anything about raised prolactin levels?

Got blood test results back a couple of days ago and I have reised prolactin levels. My GP's refered me to an endocronologist, but just wondering if anyone else has had this or knows anything about it.

Thanks for answering emma. Went to Dr about painful periods, discharge from breasts that started after v early MC.

I take it that you're not currently pregnant or BFing, which would easily explain the raised prolactin levels.

There are lots of reasons as to why you may have raised levels. The most common being that there is nothing wrong or that medication you are taking can cause it. The reason for referral to an endocrinologist is that there is a small percentage of people who will have an underlying problem with their pituitary gland, and this needs investigating.
