Fentons Procedure - Local or General

Hi It looks like i will need a fentons procedure following the birth of ds, however I have already put it off once due to my fear of general anaesthetic, having googled it though it appears some consultants prefer to do the procedure using local.

Please can anyone share there views on whether they had general or local and the success of the actual procedure.
