Our son James was born on 28 Apr 2007, he sadly passed away on 11 Sep 2007, in our arms at Robin House ( Children's Hospice).
James was born with a rare genetic condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa, he had the most severe form of EB and was fatal in infancy.
James skin was as fragile as butterfly wings, his skin broke at even the slightest touch, causing painful open blisters and wounds, the blistering was not limited to his skin, but also affected his inner body linings, such as his mouth and oesophagus. James was a very brave wee boy, he was a son we have always been proud of and it has been a privilege to be his parents. In loving memory of our son James Terrence Lynch ( Jim Jim ), we are going to do the Great Scottish Walk on 11 May 2008 in Glasgow, please support us by visiting our fundraising website www.justgiving.com/jim_jim, thank you very much!

Have just read your story Jim Jim, and just wanted your mummy and daddy to know that I wish them all the very best in reaching their target to help DebRA.

thanks cali, I noticed you're a nurse. I have a lot of respect for people like you. James had two community nurses from Yorkhill, they are lovely and very kind.

Hi vio, have added a link from my Facebook pages to your Justgiving page. James's pics and your story have had a bit of an impact on me to say the least. Just wish I could do more to help, c x

cali, thank you very very much.

Sometimes I feel i am a different person now. I have to say i have learnt a lot through having James as a son. He gave me the courage to live, to move on and I remember him everyday. Being told that your longed for first born child has EB was devastating. I rememeber when he was in Yorkhill, so many new born babies there, some were born pre-mature, and I just wish he's like them, at least, there's a cure, they could perhaps fix it but EB, they couldn't fix it, I remember looking at James, saying to him that Mummy wants a Mircale, I want you to get better but this is not going to happen..then tears streaming down my face.

I know that the best way to live is to take each day as it comes, be positive and be thankful. You see I have never met you but you are willing to help. James had 3 nurses who cared for him, 2 community nurses from Yorkhill ( they are stars ), and an EB nurse from DebRA. They still visit me occasionally, they're very kind. Lke I said to you, I have a lot of respect for nurses, it's not an easy job but very rewarding. You have to be someone very special to be a nurse.

Tomorrow is James' Birthday, he would have been 1 year old. He will be on the Scottish Daily Record tomorrow, theres a story about our wee boys fight and his life. Those of you who live in Scotland, get a copy and read about James if you get a chance. If you dont live in Scotland, you can view the story online at daily record's website.
