Bleeding spot on nose

i have been using Dermatica for a few months and my prescription is 0.025 tret/4 hydroquinone. It’s been absolutely fine, no irritation at all until the last couple of weeks when I felt my skin was becoming a little redder so I cut back use.

A few weeks ago I washed my face with a flannel as I usually do and noticed a little red mark on my nose, not a spot just a small mark. About a week ago after washing my face I realised the mark had sort of rubbed and was now a raw spot. Since then I’m being very gentle but it’s bled a few times and scabbed over in between but it doesn’t seem to be healing or shrinking. It’s still only small pimple size but very visible.

Was reading up as was concerned that the tret had somehow thinned or damaged my skin and have seen lots of info about skin cancer. As I am a sun lover and only really been disciplined about sunscreen for a year or so, how long should I leave it before I get it checked? I’m in my fifties by the way.

I’m not an anxious person about health in fact more likely too laid back sometimes so have the reverse worry that I don’t do anything when I probably should.

Hmmm. I’d avoid washing that area if my nose for a few days, sounds like you’re knocking the scab off and it can’t heal. Maybe give it another week.

I sometimes get something like this, like tiny blood blisters. I'd never considered that it might be a problem rather than a minor irritation so I'm curious to see if anyone knows otherwise.
I'm early 60s and used to have acne before menopause (pcos) and then rosacea (that seems to have abated) so my skin has had all sorts though not tret. What is your prescription for?
