Waterpik or old school flossing or both

Hi all,

Just curious what you do for oral hygiene. I'm thinking of getting a waterpik but wondered whether it's good enough to replace flossing? Or do you do it in addition to flossing?

Thanks!

I’ve got a whitening waterpik and I love it. Far better than flossing. Has meant I go twice as long between hygienist appointments as I used to because my teeth stay white so much longer. Expensive but worth it would be my verdict.

My teeth are too wide apart for flossing so I use a waterpick and some of those thick flossing sticks with a brush on.I feel you need that something extra just to get at the bits the water pick can't get at. Mind you I am very paranoid about bad breath.

I tried a waterpik but I have quite sensitive teeth and it hurt. I went back to flossing,

DD also tried it and didn't like it.

It uses whitening tablets although they’ve been tricky to get hold of recently

I have seen massive improvements to my gum health by using TePe brushes and flossing every night. I had one hygienist appointment (haven't needed to see one again!) and she said interdental brushes and flossing were much better than a waterpik.
