Acid reflux, heartburn?

Hello,

I went to a gig last night and had 1 glass of Prosecco, 3 pints of orchard thieves cider, 2 pink gin and tonics and 2 shots of tequila rosé. We got food on the way home which was a chicken burger and chips that I didn't eat all of, only some.
At 4 o clock in the morning I woke with what I can only describe as a ball of food stuck In my chest. I made myself get sick cause I thought it would help but it didn't. It's so painful to eat anything and I feel it on the right side of my chest when swallowing and it radiates into my shoulder and back. I went to the dr and they said my osophagus is inflamed and it was more than likely the cider that caused. I was prescribed zircon*FasTab to take twice a day. So far I've only taken one.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? I'm so worried there's something more causing it like cancer? I'm a 27 year old female and this has never happened to me before even though I've drank cider before (although not all the time) I've only ever experienced acid reflux when I was pregnant.

Could someone tell me if this happened to them before as I'm so worried. I'm meant to be going to Rome on Wednesday coming and now it will ruined as I can't even eat or drink without pain.

Thanks

I wouldn’t panic if I were you. I think you just need to take the medication and be careful what you eat & drink for a few days. Stay away from alcohol and tea/coffee until it settles. If it doesn’t settle after a couple of weeks, go back to the GP. (You drank a fair amount of very acidic drinks so it’s no wonder you got heartburn). Hope you’re feeling better soon.

You binge drank and then ate greasy junk food late at night. Rein it in considerably and you'll be right as rain.

@Funderthighs @Sparkletastic i have figured out what caused it. I was put on doxycycline antibiotics for a sinus infection and I actually took it straight before I went to bed. Apparently that medication can cause esophagitis if you lie down too soon after taking it. Well that and the alcohol didn't help . Thanks for the replies
