Hi everyone,

I am just wondering whether 1) you are a shoes on or shoes off household and 2) if you touched the bottom of your dirty (at least a year old, goes to work with me everyday, to public loos, walks across the city to the cinema) shoe while eating, would you wash your hands, or would you deem this excessive?

TIA 😁

Forgot to add: would you get up and wash them if you were in the middle of watching a movie while eating, having touched the bottom of your shoe?

Indoor shoes household.

I probably would wash my hands OP but I gather from reading other posts, that I’m fussier than some.

If I was feeling particularly tired, and was already settled down with the movie, I might defer the hand washing as long as I was eating with a knife and fork. If eating a sandwich or something with my hands, I definitely would wash my hands!

We’re generally a leave-your-shoes-on house, unless we’ve been out in the dark and potentially stepped in something gross. And I take them off before putting my feet on the sofa.
I’m not sure why I’d be touching the soles of my shoes but if I did then I would wash my hands afterwards.

Why would you touch a shoe while eating?
