Swollen neck lymph node

My 20 year old dd was unwell 5 weeks ago with a cold and bad throat. Her nodes in her neck were the largest I have ever seen. They went down but are still very noticeable on one side. She has also been feeling a bit nauseous, fatigued, achy hip joint. There is no chance of pregnancy.
Today she had GP appointment who has requested blood test and a scan of her neck, guessing that is an ultrasound.

Trying to not get concerned in front of her as she is worried. No idea of how long scan wait is and she can't get booked in for blood test until the 17th.

Any ideas?

@DeerWatch those symptoms sound very much like glandular fever... the blood tests will confirm this if that's the case, hope your DD is feeling better soon as it it can wash people out for a while with fatigue,,,

I hope it turns out to be nothing OP. I think the fact she's had a cold means it's very likely to be a virus/infection. I recently had a cold and have very swollen, painful lymph nodes on one side of my neck.

Agree with CityCommuter. Excellent she has been to G.P.
Has she, perchance, started University/College?

I had this as a 20 year old - massive swollen gland on one side of neck for ages. All was well (I had a blood test to check).
I currently have one on my groin - going to get it checked on Monday - been 2 weeks now (I had been ill w some stomach thing so I hope it’s related to that).
