Back pain after a fall

Basically I had an interview 2 weeks ago which was done via video call. I was sitting cross legged on the floor whilst on the call and all in all, I was probably sitting this way for over 30 minutes. When I finished I tried to stand but as I had no feeling in my legs, my legs gave way and I fell awkwardly on my side. It was very painful especially around my ankle and legs. The ankle became swollen the day afterwards but the swelling eventually calmed down.

There is still pain in my right foot at times when I move it too much or suddenly. Today I have woken up and the right lower part of my back is absolutely killing..so painful. I can bend down but it hurts so much. Do you think I might have done something to my back from that day I fell? The pain is going down my right side from lower back to my foot. It's strange that it has been 2 weeks and this pain has only become worse suddenly today.

Sounds like it could be soft tissue or nerve related. You could have slept funny on it which has aggravated something and making the pain worse today, as you said.

If concerned, I'd say book a physio appointment - they will be able to do a hands on exam and assessment of walking and see things a GP won't... and if they think xrays are needed will advise you as much, at which point you can have that discussion with a GP for a direct xray referral!
