Raynaud's or RA?

I have recently (at the age of 44) started experiencing what I think might be Raynaud's - the end of my fingers, especially on one hand but sometimes the other, go completely white and numb. But... it doesn't hurt at all, even when it stops being numb, and eveything I read about Raynaud's says it's painful. It's also seemingly odd that this has only started in middle age. My doctor is investigating for rhematoid arthritis but I don't seem to have any other symptoms of this - just the weird finger thing!

Does anyone have experience of similar?

Yes it sounds like it. I'm 44 and started experiencing it about 4-4 years ago. It happens when I'm cold and driving seems to bring it in too. Lasts about 10 minutes, they feel cold to the touch, tingly and numb but it isn't painful at all.

Thanks - that's reassuring. I'd rather it was Raynaud's than something more long term challenging!

I've been having this since my 20s
I'm now 40
I don't get pain with it
Don't think it's RA in my case

I had Reynauds when younger (it eased a lot in middle age) but it wasn't painful. Just white, numb extremities.

I get this as well. Any sudden onset of this should be investigated so hopefully the GP is running some other bloods too.
