Really bad nausea on citalopram

Has anyone had this side effect? I'm on day 3 of citalopram and feel so sick! I woke up during the night with hot flushes and the need to vomit (didn't happen) eventually I managed to get back to sleep and now again I feel so sick like I'm unwell! It feels like morning sickness all over again.
Is this normal? I'm not sure I can carry on taking them, I have a phobia of vomiting and this had to be the side effect I get :(

You need to carry on and get through it. Try having something sweet, and dry cracker/toast before bed

Do you think it would be better to take them at night? I have stuff to do this morning, hope I don't vomit on the road 🥲

Yes, it stops. I have it everytime I restart them but it does go away!

I felt awful for the first week or two when I started them. It did go away.

Make sure you eat before taking them. That stopped the nausea for me.

You could try Stugeron from a chemist or ask you doctor for Cyclizine. They work for nausea from other meds. Having said that I had terrible nausea/vertigo/general flu symptoms on an SNRI, was encouraged to keep going but after 5 weeks when I could barely sit up I gave up.

Oh no! I hope it doesn't last that long for me
