Hi all,
my mum is 84, generally fit and healthy. Today she went to the doctors for a second time as she’s been getting awful headaches which radiate from the back of her neck (the 2 boney bits).
She has begun walking towards the left and when the doctor asked her to put one foot in front of the other (like they do for drink drive testing), she couldn’t do it as her coordination was completely off.
I have noticed that when I speak to her, she doesn’t seem to always understand me and when I called her tonight, she sounded drowsy but said she didn’t feel drowsy. She had taken some tablets to help with her pain an hour earlier so may have been this.
When she lies down she gets extreme dizziness and the pain in the back of her neck worsens.
She also has a puffy area on her cheek which is painful to touch.
She said this all happened following a fall where she broke her wrist about 5 months ago.
Doctor has referred her for a brain scan and said it’s neurological.
Any ideas what it could be?
