Routine mammogram screening after diagnostic one

Hello all, I can't seem to find the answer to this. I have my first routine mammogram screening appointment tomorrow in one of those mobile units. I had a diagnostic mammogram (and ultrasound) back in January after finding a lump and given the all clear.

I hear that an awful lot of the first time screening (routine 3 yearly) are recalled after the first one due to having "nothing to compare it with" and being quite an anxious person I'm stressing over this. I know most recalls are nothing to worry about but still.

However, would the fact I've had a mammogram (in the hospital breast clinic) earlier this year mean they would have one to compare it with or are they different departments and not tie the two together?

I have googled this and can't seem to find the answer. Anybody know?

In my area they said yes they would be able to compare the two.

If you had one that recently you don’t really need another one yet but I guess it will put your mind at rest to get a normal result. If it’s the same health trust they will be able to compare. As we say over on the cancer thread Don’t borrow tomorrow’s sorrow!

Thanks, I tried to defer it for a year but they would only let me defer for 6 months or three years. So thought better to be nine months than three years. So hoping all will be okay!

Just to update this in case anybody is searching for the answer! In my case they did look at the previous mammogram, I asked when I got there.

Got a clear result today 👍🏻
