Hi

I started a thread last night about paracetamol in pregnancy, (just to get some re-assurance that it's safe) as i had pain.
I am 31 weeks pregnant and while i was shopping with dp, my pelvis/groin and legs were really aching. I hadn't walked far and i had to walk really slowly and stop a few times and cut short the shopping trip.
The pain seemed to be in waves and i was worried. Went home, had a bath and called the hospital for some advice and they sadi take 2 paracetamol. I did and went to bed.
I am stil really achey today and have been trying to take it easy.
My quetion really is, a few mumsnetteres have mentioned PBS and i wondered how you distinguish that from 'normal' pregnancy aches and pains and if i carry on feeling like this (really feel all i can do is stop at the moment!), can i just deal with the midwives (as opposed to G.P) as i don't actually have a G.P i like at the moment???????????

Sorry it's so long!!!!!

Do you mean SPD - symphysis pubis dysfunction?

If you find that the pain persists and gets worse, see your midwife, who should refer you to an obstetric physiotherapist who will fit you with a support and give you advice on how to minimise the discomfort.

This might help here

Paracetamol is safe to take in pregnancy.

You might find that with a bit of rest it will settle and not actually be SPD. If you press over the centre of your pubic bone and it hurts like hell then it is SPD. Hope it improves for you soon.
