Hi all,

I haven't been well for just over a week with a heavy cold. I'm turning a corner however I woke up this morning with a discomfort at the back of my throat and when I looked I seen this sore type thing.
I'm worried that it could be quinsy starting?
Is this something I should be worried about and call the GP in the morning or just leave?
Thanks

If you call 111 you can send them a photo.

I'm in NI so I don't think we have 111 here

Check again in the morning. If it feels/looks worse then call the GP. Take some
ibuprofen (if you can this) to help
with the swelling. Hope
it feels better soon

Gargle with salt water/TCP. Looks like 'just' an ulcer to me but I'm not a doctor/dentist.

Looks like an ulcer to me. Is there any chance it’s HF&M rather than a cold?

TheOwlChronicles · 30/10/2023 13:24

Looks like the start of a throat infection, yes (as an aside, and it could just be the photo, but are your teeth covered in plaque? Sorry to mention but it just leapt out at me from the photo and keeping your mouth clean and fresh obvs helps cut down on infections)

Thanks all
Owl, I'm aware that my teeth don't look great. Without getting into it I have a health condition that has caused them to become discoloured etc.
Regarding my throat, I do think it's an ulcer as it only hurts when eating etc and it's kind of like a stinging pain
