Headaches and Caffeine??

I’ve always suffered with headaches...stress-related, hormonal. It’s in the family.

Tried all sorts of mainstream medications...nothing works or if it does it doesn’t forever.

Someone recommended an espresso a day! Quite shocked to hear this as I know for some people, caffeine can be a trigger.

Has anyone heard of this approach?

I have one coffee in the morning. If I don't have it I get a caffeine withdrawal headache. I am prone to headaches and migraines and if I feel one coming on I'll take two ibuprofen and a cup of coffee or full fat coke. So yes the caffeine hit stops a headache for me

Thanks
The only kind of coffee I drink is latte which obviously has little caffeine in it.

Do you drink it black, one teaspoon of coffee?

Why do you think latte doesn’t have much caffeine in it? It’s a full measure of coffee, it’s just taller and has more milk added to it.

My consultant told me it wasn't so much caffeine being a trigger (although obvs you can have too much), but having different amount every day.

I also find an espresso can get rid of a minor migraine or make a bad one bearable.

However if I have one every day and then miss a day, there will be a headache.

I use one heaped tablespoon of grounds per cup in a cafetiere and have one or two cups in the morning, with milk. Agree a latte has the usual amount of caffeine, the milk dilutes the flavour

Lots of headache medication has caffeine in it weirdly

It can help in moderation but I also find too much can trigger one. As PP said a lot of analgesics have caffeine as an ingredient.

Drinking a latte wouldn't be as concentrated a hit as an espresso as it's undiluted.
