FND diagnosis

3 years ago I stumbled into my gps after my lower face and right arm and leg went numb. Dr scribbled the fnd website and told me to go google, I thought he was an utter dick.

I continued to get worse and worse. Finally saw my own gp 9 months later, urgent nhs Neuro referral that took 15 months, who palmed me off with migraines, aye 24/7 for nearly 3 years so I went private. Private Neuro has gave me a diagnosis of fnd with functional gate disorder being the main component.

I don't know how to move forward. My gp is off on a/l til Tuesday. I know these symptoms are VERY real and it feels like such a palmed off diagnosis. How did you accept it?

Hello,

I feel your pain literally. I was diagnosed with FND a few years ago, after a 4 year wait for a consultant.

I went private to get an MRI which they "said" showed no symtoms of MS. However I have all the symptoms of MS. Even the ones the books do not mention like the MS hug.

So many times I just felt like noone was listening to me. The consultant even asked me what triggers any symptoms and in the report he wrote down something completely different to what I said.

I hope you had a better time of it than me, but if you didn't then you are far from alone. Good luck.
