Has anyone had Augmentin? Are there any side effects?

DH was given this at Papworth last week

He has had a few headaches but I don't know if that's a virus or a side effect

Augmentin is a broad spectrum antibiotic with amoxycillin and some other ingredient in it which the name escapes me.

Where I work the Dr's prescribe it when a pt has a good going infection, where other anti biotics have failed, or they are resistant to just amoxycillin or whatever

as an antibiotic it is pretty well tolerated, iirc an allergc reaction would be a rash/swelling etc (a penicillin allergic reaction)

(i'm not a doctor or medically trained, only recalling information)

If its doing the job I wouldnt stop the A/B, but if the headache persists go back to the GP?

HAd this while bf - dd got upset tummy and I got thrush but no worse.

So I guess it's a virus - told him so
