Why is my finger so swollen

So earlier today my hands felt fine. At around 6pm I felt a slight aching feeling in the tip of my right index finger. I didn't think much of it.
But within an hour, the tip of my finger has become swollen, red, it's radiating heat and is very tender. It is now 3am and the swelling has not gone down and the pain is not easing.

Could be gout?

It looks pretty normal to me.
