Zapping pain - nerves?

I’ve had muscle pain, stiffness, twitching, pins and needles for several weeks. Seen five doctors, loads of tests, can’t find anything wrong. It has started to ease off. GP says viral or anxiety related.

Tonight I’ve started having sharp burning zapping pains that run from my left rib down my left side to my ankle. The first time I thought I’d got an electric shock from the oven. But it’s happened again a few times.

What the hell is going on? I’m so scared.

Sorry your experiencing that OP, I have very similar with a positive Lyme disease test from a private clinic. NHS just said fibromyalgia. Who knows really. B12 injections seem to help me but it’s still quite a mystery. I’ve had it on and off for a year.

Do you think it’s a Lyme disease symptom then?

It could be a lot of things. I was just letting you know what mine probably is due to, incase you remember being bitten by a tick at some point.

I've been having this since getting a respiriatory virus six weeks ago, I had similar after covid so assume it's just post viral. Google tells me nerve pain and twitching are pretty common post viral symptoms

Are you on antidepressants as this can be a common side effect

I had all this post vaccine and post covid (close together) -went on for 10 months, has recently faded a lot- had numerous bloods, saw neurologist etc. first time I went on a long covid forum I realised how common all these symptoms were. I've been left with what feels like arthritis stiffness in back of neck /spine- sore eyes (intermittent) and occasional pins and needles and occasional shortness of breath

When it first came on I had chronic pins and needles, a weird weak wobbly feeling leg, internal tremors in a leg, a weird zap electrical shot feeling in a finger ( once a week or so) a stiff neck and dizzy/light headed intermittently - truly crap!!

As far as I know I haven’t had Covid. Although the doctor has speculated that I might have had it without respiratory symptoms. Too late to test now of course.

No I’m not on antidepressants.
