Recovering from broken foot - is this normal?

Broke 3 metatarsals in July at 8 months pregnant. Foot was X-rayed and put in plaster. They also wanted to do a CT scan to check the ligaments were ok in the plaster, but due to the radiation I declined this and advised I’d come back for the CT scan after I’d had the baby. Appt was scheduled for mid Sept.

After baby arrived, I brought my appt forward a couple of weeks. They xrayed my foot again and bones looked fine….but now they weren’t interested in doing a CT scan to check the ligaments. Plaster was removed and I was told I didn’t need physio and just not to do any long walks for 6 weeks.

I’m now 2 months on and still occasionally limping if I walk a lot. My foot often feels sore and constantly feels tight/like I need to stretch it. I think I would struggle to go running on it. It’s also noticeably weaker, for example on my non broken foot I can stand on one foot and rise up onto my tip toes, but I can’t do this on the foot that was broken.

Is this normal and am I just being impatient in my recovery? I’m now worried no one checked the ligaments. The dr who signed me off didn’t advise my foot would feel sore, or I may limp for a while, so just wanted to see what the consensus was before I speak to my Gp. Thanks.

Did you get physio?

Non union (where they dont heal) can happen but it’s an mri you need.

See your GP?

No physio. The dr who signed me off said I didn’t need any. But told me that the bones had healed enough to have the cast off.
