Need some reassurance re breast problem

Having some burning pain inside one nipple and up the side of my breast- was pretty sure it was hormonal/the purchase of a new bra and wasn't too worried but I've just got out the shower and it looks like the nipple (areola area I mean) has physically changed shape.
It looks noticeably smaller than the other and sort of pulled up at the bottom? I can't feel any lumps and skin texture all feels normal.
Hard to explain but almost looks like there should be a dimple or scar there to pull the skin in, but there isn't.
Going to book a GP appt tomorrow morning but just wondering if anyone can please share any positive experiences of a similar situation to help me stay calm in the meantime?

Former BC patient here. Nobody can really tell you unfortunately. GP and referral to your local breast clinic is the only way forward. Of course there can be hormonal changes, fibroadenomas, cysts. All things that can be there aside from cancer. Hopefully it's nothing but you absolutely must be checked. I took the decision not to dwell until I knew what I was dealing with and that served me well. Avoid googling. That's a nightmare for your mental health. Good luck!
