Gel manicure nails - damage?

Jess8197 · 20/10/2023 00:11

Went to get my gel done today and during removal with the efile it was a bit hurtful… then this happened. The tech said the damage is due to trauma to the nail- I think it was the efile removal process. Does anybody have some insight? Another mail tech said it looks like nail damage due to incorrect removal. Thank you 🙏

E file.

Cnd brand is easily removed with acetone. Other brands, not so much.

Currently I have gel polish that will only come if with an efile.... how annoying and surely but good.

I have stopped getting gel nails as it was damaging my nails. I think it was the removal process that did it.

I didn't know CND was better. If I get them again (not for a while though- too scared), I might find somewhere that uses CND

Been doimg gel nails on myself for two years now.

this definitely e file. When removal i prefer juat e file the top bit and soaking it. But with professional they wont wait for the soaking process

Definitely incorrect removal. That's what mine look like when they crack and I pull them off - the reason I stopped and got acrylics.

I wouldn't worry too much. They grow back but I would go elsewhere as I cannot stand this "nothing to do with me" attitude.

Seconded, I reverted back to sns to avoid any drilling or severe filling. Nails are much happier for it.

Definitely the removal- I have the same issue at the moment. If it was trauma then scrapes like that would’ve gone through the polish, wouldn’t they.

Only if it's the original Cnd, in the original packaging..... some will use a different base coat etc.

Don't let them use the efile on your nails, soak your nails in acetone (wrap them) or use anything abrasive on your natural nails.

Have a look at official Cnd videos on YouTube.
