worried by various lumps

I've got a small lump un der my ribs and another one in the side of my back, each about the size of my thumbnail, so nothing major. I am worrying about them, and can't see an oncologist for 3 weeks - can anybody reassure me?

sorry, I ended my post very abruptly as my daughter came into the room and I didn't want her to see I was posting about being worried. I was saying I have noticed 2 lumps which have got me quite worried. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 month ago and have just finished chemo after having had an immediate double mastectomy, so my first thought is can it have spread? I rang my oncologist and have an appointment in 3 weeks - but its such a long wait - I would be very glad to hear from anyone else with similar experiences, and know what the outcome was. TIA

Sorry to hear that you are worrying. I had BC 6 years ago (double mastectomy, chemo etc) and I have found 2 lumps over the years. One was in my neck and was an enlarged lymph node but nothing ominous, it had just become inflamed due to an infection and wouldn’t go down - it eventually did. I also found a lump in my thigh this summer which was scanned and it was a ‘fatty lump’, never been so grateful to have anything fatty!
This summer I went to the doc but it looked like it would take some time to get anywhere so I rang up the BC clinic and the nurses were great, I was in within a few days, checked and reassured that all okay. If you are worrying, ring the clinic tomorrow and ask to be seen, they usually don’t mind if someone is worrying.
I know how hard it is, especially when you’ve got kids xx

Could you see a gp instead? They could be fatty lumps (lypomas) or cysts rather than anything sinister

Try not to worry (although I know from experience that this is very very hard), you’ve already been though hell and survived so you are made of strong stuff. Hope you get on okay xx

And on the plus side, if they were really concerned then they’d be getting you in earlier, but would still you ring the BC clinic so you can get peace of mind xx
