I am gonna be having my dinner in an hour or so, but for now i fancy a cuppa with some biccies. do i test my blood sugers now b4 i have the tea and biccies or after but before dinner (if that makes sense?)

i have been told to test before meals and 1 hr after.

I'd say before and after dinner - that's what I would have done when I had gestational diabetes, anyway.

right before dinner, misdee, and then 1 hr after dinner

I would say, test before for a true reading, or a while after you eat. My mom is diabetic and thats how she tests.
I mean look at it this way, if you are tested by gp or other, ie blood test, they insist you fast for 12 hours. so mom usually tests before to get a more accurate reading.

did it just before. as had dinner earlier. now gotta wait til l8.

its so confusing all this.

doing it just before you eat is right. but be aware that the biscuits will have had an effect on the reading. how are you doing, generally?

ok. pretty low readings so far. even after my lunch where i had a can of coke, one hr later was 6.8, was expecting that one to be higher. was pleasently surprised.

but peed off with my gp, whp told me that after i have the baby that i should go on a diet. i'm 29 weeks gone, feeling liek a whale as it is, dont need to be told that.

tell the gp to go jump!

6.8 an hour after eating lunch & a can of coke is very respectable indeed - well done! when are you going to see the pregnancy/diabetes people?

wednesday.

i was quite impressed with that result.
