Wouldn't know as never had periods with mine.
Logically can't see how it would be a problem, Sex is ok so ???

I had mine fitted at the beginning of December. The GP told me not to use any until I'd had my 6 week check and I forgot to ask the nurse then whether it was ok to use them. I had been using them before then as I had quite a bit of heavy bleeding and just cannot get over the constant leaky sensation you get with pads. Everything OK so far - I've not bled for a good few weeks so hopefully that's it (not counting on it yet though!!)

I was told not to use tampons - but never had another period. Having the coil fitted has dramatically improved my life. On my recommendation my sister had one fitted to - she had awful PMS - now she is a changed woman. Goodluck.
