Tonsillitis or tonsil stone??

Hi everyone.

I started getting a sore throat (left side) on Tuesday night just gone.. 3 days ago. It’s been very on and off and not ever been terrible pain just hurts a little occasionally just sometimes more than others.
I feel fine in myself, however can feel my gland in throat that side is swollen when I feel my neck, my tonsils don’t look swollen I don’t think? But there is a white lump which actually is bigger than in the picture but hides behind the skin (have moved the skin and can see it’s bigger) and it’s making my ear ache slightly.

I’ll attach a photo. Does it look like tonsilitis or tonsil stone? Or something else?

I’ve already tried to get a GP appointment twice today. First one he referred me to pharmacy, who sent me back to GP, who then just prescribed me antibiotics without even looking at my throat or asking me to send in a picture of anything!!! Useless honestly…

I had tonsilitis earlier in the year and remember it being quite painful, I then developed Quincy and had to go to a&e (drs told me I had laryngitis) and that was NOT fun so I’m scared it’s going to develop into something worse this time..

I have the antibiotics on stand by to collect however I just wanted peoples opinions seeing as I can’t get anywhere with my GP

THANK YOU!!

That’s a tonsil stone.

But your throat does look inflamed and sore, I just can’t see any ‘white bits’ apart from tonsil stone.

Thank you for your reply! Yeah it is a little sore! Perhaps I have a viral infection which is making me notice the tonsil stone! I’m not sure whether to try remove or leave it. im sure I’ve had one before and I thought it was a random bit of food that come out!

Removing them makes me gag, tend to press down on the tonsil with my finger and it comes loose! They are grim.
