8 weeks after c-section now experiencing moderate to severe pain on right side of ribs, it has come and gone a few times over the past couple of days, i feel breathless and sick when i have it. Has anyone else experienced it, and should i be worried?

i did have an infection on my scar but it is almost healed now, i don't think its anything to do with that but thought i should mention it just incase.

that's not normal. You should see a doctor.

As far as I know that's not normal. Agree with megamindy, go and see your gp asap.

Agree - go and see doctor asap. Have you had any pain or swelling in your leg(s)? Breathlessness and/or cough together with any sort of pain in the area of the chest in the post natal period can be serious.

thanks for the advice, i have gp appointment on monday. My legs have been sore since the birth as i suffered with bad water retention and alot of varicose veins I didn't think it could be more than that, but will definately mention it. Thankfully it has eased off a bit now, but it comes and goes.

TBH, if you have swollen legs, varicose veins and have recently had surgery, AND you have chest pain and breathlessness i would advice going to A&E to get checked out.

There is a small chance that you could have developed a blood clot and the sooner it is diagnosed and treated the better. I really don't mean to scare you, but better safe than sorry.

Do you know if you had any injections to prevent blood clots whilst you were in hospital? Were you given special stockings to wear during your pregnancy and during surgery and afterwards?

Sorry - I have only just come back to this.

I have to rush off now, but will check later.
