Elevated CK levels

Hi

just wondering if anyone has experience of this and what happened/ what the cause was?

phoned gp surgery for some blood results today and receptionist said I need a routine app with dr to discuss results as CK levels were elevated. Results were 274. she said she didn’t know what this meant.

me being me took to Google and I must say I have freaked myself out completely.

muscle damage diseases along with other things have come up but at the moment the muscle in my shoulder (back) is so painful due to repetitive movement (constantly holding 5 month old with that arm) that the pain sometimes makes me feel sick. I’m wondering if this could be the cause?

also 2 days before my blood test I went for a walk, only a little over a mile, but my legs were defo working hard (pushing the pushchair) Iv read exercise can elevate levels

just looking for some advice/reassurance

thanks

Don't panic. Dr Google won't differentiate between a CK level that is a little bit higher than normal ( yours) and one that is massively high (5000+) so much of what you have read is highly likely to be irrelevant to you.

Speak to your gp.

I had this totally randomly. Next test was OK. I had a emg and that was all a bit weird and I had to go back, but ultimately the emg was OK too. Something weird was / is going on but nothing alarming has happened and that was last year now.

@Baby4due2023 did you ever get to the bottom of this? I had something similar and while mine was 'normal ', it was 195, therefore at the higher end.
