V&D for a week now

Started having V&D last Saturday. Vomiting lasted 48 hours. The nausea remained as did the diarrhoea. It stopped on Wed for 48 hours but has been back since then.

I'm barely eating due to the nausea. It hasn't helped that despite feeling so bad I've had to get out of bed to do some work

I'm going to call my GP first thing on Monday but has anyone else had this lasting so long

I know after a stomach bug you can get a temporary lactose intolerance, could it be that now possibly? Any link with consumption of dairy?

Kinneddar · 07/10/2023 22:53

All I've been managing to eat are tea biscuits & toast. I had soup for a few days but gave that up So toast would tie in with dairy. Certainly only a scraping of butter but still 🤔

@Kinneddar I've had this, and it was campylobacter food poisoning. Ask the GP to send off a stool sample.

Kinneddar · 12/10/2023 16:42

I'm now approaching 2 weeks of this. Blood & urine samples came back clear just waiting on stool results

Has anyone else had diarreah last this long & it turn out to be nothing sinister. The longer it's going on the more concerned I'm getting. No other symptoms other than terrible nausea

@Kinneddar as stated below, I've had this with diarrhoea, and it was campylobacter, which has temporarily made my bowel extremely sensitive. It's driving me mad. Hope you get an answer soon.

Kinneddar · 12/10/2023 16:47

@Covidwoes Thanks. I've never felt so ill. I cant keep any food in my stomach and I can barely get out of bed

You've eased my mind a bit

It could also be cryptosporidium which can last a few weeks and did with myself and k daughter recently. Hope you get well soon

Kinneddar · 12/10/2023 21:23

Thanks.

Hoping the test results come back tomorrow. I cant take much more of this

Hey @Kinneddar, how are you doing? My test results took 3 days to come back.

Kinneddar · 13/10/2023 12:44

Everything came back clear. Doctor said I basically just need to ride it out. I'm getting a prescription for basically imodium

Had hoped there would be something she could prescribe. It's just getting me down
