Hi hoping someone can help/share experiences.. I got an MRI for lower back pain finally after years! Getting out of bed is so painful! Hard to get down the stairs some days, hard to help my two young children it’s a nightmare. Anyways I got my mri results back but cannot talk to my doctor for another week. I know it’s not far away I’m just worried. I requested a print off of my results and was hoping anyone could explain to me if I add the results on here? I do have an idea but I just would like someone to put it into words for me. I kind of feel like this is a massive thing for me. It’s going to determine the rest of no life! Thanks x

I'm a GP receptionist. Happy to look if you want. We get quite skilled at cutting through the medical terminology to the bottom line with a bit of help from Dr Google.

I’m a doctor. The report needs to be correlated with symptoms and examination findings to be interpreted properly. Hopefully your doctor will be able to explain it fully next week.

Thanks for your reply! I’m hoping so, it is only a phone call though I’m hoping she’ll be able to tell what the next steps are.

Hi @Kaykay96 I've reported your post as the front page of your report has all your personal details.

Shlump · 03/10/2023 12:06

It doesn’t show anything very alarming or needing urgent treatment.

Your GP can go through it in detail and explain what it does show.

You should delete the photos as they have your name and DOB.

@Greybeardy can you read mine? Do I have a slipped disc
Dee was seen at St. Anthony's Hospital today. I discussed the results of her MRI, which did not show any evidence of deep infiltrating endometriosis. However, there was a 15 mm left-sided cyst containing proteinaceous material, a small follicle in the right ovary, and a very small hydrosalpinx on the right side. The MRI of her spine revealed mild degenerative changes in the lower cervical and lumbar regions, as well as bilateral L5 nerve root impingement at the L5-S1 level.
