Trapped nerve? Driving excruciating

Woke up a few days ago with a stiff neck and shoulder. I’m assuming some sort of trapped nerve as in certain positions the pain radiates all down my arm and hand.
lying down is pretty much fine, walking around I’m just aware of a pain in my neck but sitting upright and specifically driving is so painful.
I can get slight relief from contorting myself into random positions but that’s obviously not conducive to safe driving so I’m mainly gritting my teeth and letting out the occasional swear word.
What can I do to resolve it quickly? I’ve had similar before that goes away after a week or so but I can’t stand any more car journeys like this!

Had a trapped nerve in my shoulder for months, it was excruciating. I tried everything, but the thing that resolved it immediately was acupuncture from a very experienced practitioner. It was the best £60 I ever spent

googling acupuncturists now!
