I know this has been done to death but has anyone actually had a good result with just wiping with cooled boiled water?
GP said to do this and if it was still bad after a couple of days to make an appt to get ABs.
Sadly my boobs have dries up so no milk to scooch. But will water work???

just wiping the gunk away will not actually clear up the conjunctivitis if he has it. if he just has a sticky eye he may have a blocked eye, or just have a sticky eye (it happens!)

if he does have conjunctivitis then he will need AB drops or cream.

blocked duct, not blocked eye. i'm ill.

ABs don't make much difference when treating conjunctivits. Wiping with cool water will clear sticky eyes but the infection itself is self limiting so it will eventually clear up itself. In a few cases ABs are required.

DS had horendous conjunctivits once. I left it for the recommended 5 days and it was worse not better so I went to the GP and she said to continue wiping with cool water, I went home cursing her 48 hours later it was gone . I so wanted to go back and prove her wrong but I couldn't!!!
