Sensitive area on head

I was feeling my scalp and there is an area that feels sensitive and painful when I touch it. I don’t think there is a lump there but I’m worried. Any ideas for possible causes of this

It could just be a random spot or blocked hair follicle.
FWIW, the cancer on DH’s head wasn’t sore until it was a rough, scaly lesion. There was never a lump.

A bruise. A spot. Even wearing my hair in a ponytail can make my scalp sore sometimes where it’s been pulling. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’ll go away in a day or two, I promise.

Ahh I’m feeling a lot better now, thank you. I’m sorry to hear about your husbands cancer and hope he is okay!
