I've been spotting/bleeding for well over a month now and have tender breasts also which if fucking annoying. Had a regular-ish period in the middle of that. It is quite possible that I'm a bit on edge as well and ever so slightly emotional . Do I need to see a doctor or is just one of those things?

Oh help - someone please say this has happened to them and it's nothing to worry about and it goes away soon. It's the constantly feeling overemotional I'm having a problem with... or maybe that's just 'cause I've had a crap time lately?

Its probably one of those things, but I would definitely go see the doctor. Can't hurt, might help, and any unusual spotting should be checked anyway.

My BF had 3 week long spotting/bleeding periods and there was nothing wrong - got it sorted, eventually, with acupuncture and Chinese herbs (if I remember rightly).

I have had slight spotting a couple of times for no particular reason, and its almost certainly just perimenopause doing its thang - but I'm going for an endometrial u/s just to be safe. Maybe you should too, do ask your GP.

And get yerself a big mug of hot chocolate/wine/tea/soup and give yourself a cuddle from me.

Thanks. Went to see the doctor and she said that it is probably just one of those things but that she had to do all these tests to be able to say that for sure. She did say it's probably not anything to do with menopause, peri or otherwise - I'm only 36. It's most likely stress, weight loss and just a bunch of little things contributing.

It's annoying - am on my second period in 2 1/2 weeks too.

Had my first period in 9 months in early September - nothing since but in the last week I've had two occasions of slight brown spotting - is this normal? I'm 49 and started missing periods for varying amounts of time March 2009. First time I've had spotting during a "no-period" phase.

I started peri menopause in my thirties, it's not at all unheard of. I'm afraid as we get to the end of our thirties we can start to bleed irratically. I'd get it checked too but likely to be nothing.
