Bad back, vulval burning. Nerve pain?

I have a bad back and achy arms and legs. Now I’ve developed vulval pain. It doesn’t feel like thrush or UTI - it feels like aching and burning. Nerve pain from my back?

I can’t get in to see the GP till Thursday. But everything I’m reading online says this is urgent and can cause permanent damage if not treated promptly. Advice please?

Please get medical advice urgently. I was warned about this by my GP with my bad back pain.

I have similar. You probably need to go to A&E, definitely if bits go numb or a leg feels weak. But it could be nothing. Mine doesn't seem to be anything serious.

I don’t have numbness, and no difficulty going to the loo. Just a burning sensation in the tailbone and vulva.

Does your anus feel a bit numb, tingly?

Spodey · 25/09/2023 17:13

Difficult to tell. I think it feels ok.

It’s mainly the tailbone and buttocks that are burning. Slightly spreading to the front.

If you get a piece of loo roll and wipe down there if it feels wrong numb tingly then you're experiencing nerve issues. You've missed your surgery times now unfortunately so will have to wait until tomorrow

I managed to get in to see the GP as an emergency. He said pain and burning in the tailbone and vulva isn’t a concern. As long as I don’t have any numbness, don’t have an accident and can tell when I need the loo, and I’m able to go successfully. If any of those problems occur I have to go to A&E.

Glad that you saw the GP

I know probably not what you want to hear but this sounds like herpes. I know because I suffer with it myself and when it comes on It's a burning sensation and I get achey legs and back etc and often feel run down how I imagine shingles to feel. Look out for any blisters that form in the next few days or if it becomes really painful to pass urine. if this happens you can ask the GP/ GUM clinic for acyclovir which helps fast!
