Is there anything else I should be asking r.E bleeding?

About 12 months ago I started bleeding mid cycle, for 4-5 days around ovulation (usually just after). Coincidentally I had my first smear the month after the bleeding started and all was apparently normal.

Since then the bleeding has gradually increased. It’s now quite a heavy loss each month, just after ovulation, lasting a few days. Think, day one of period heavy and definitely not spotting.

I went back to my GP early this year and they did some swabs for STIs (all normal), did a physical examination and referred me for an ultrasound. All came back completely normal.

Is there anything else I should be doing or can I just leave this now? The GPs best guess was that the bleeding was caused by the ectropian on my cervix, but everything I’ve read has suggested that should cause spotting at most. I have 3 young children and I do my think I’d ever cope with the guilt if I do nothing and it turns out to be sinister.

Thank you
