Dd2 (6) has had this fluey snot bug since Sunday, she seemed perkier yesterday morning so I sent her to school but I guess it was a bit early
She woke up today feeling obviously rotten and with a temperature, and now won't walk anymore - whenever I try to get her to bear weight on her legs she cries with pain She's all shakey too even though her temp isn't that high - 38.8C. I think she's mainly shaking from the pain in her legs ISWIM.
Dd1 had this bug last week but didn't have any leg problems. I've not really come across this before, someone reassure me please! She's a pitiful sight and can't talk enough to tell me what exactly the problem is.

Hi geekgirl - hope its just a virus and that it settles for her soon, it must be worrying.

geekgirl · 05/03/2008 20:20

thanks headgirl, you know how it is when they can't tell you what exactly the problem is - now where's that cotton wool suit Fio was talking about?

Hope she gets a good nights sleep and you don't have too much hanging around tomorrow.

I do know! I always feel DD3 gets so much more poorly than her sisters do with viruses cos her tolerance for discomfort is high, and of course she never says anything. Then the symptoms suddenly hit her and she's floored. But she's tough, and she rallies quickly - hope your girl does too xx

oh my goodness.

well, fingers crossed it is all just a virus, but if not, at least it is being caught early.

hugs, as I know how awful and stressful this all is.

am sure she will be fine tho

How is your DD2 this morning geekgirl? Hope all is well xx

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 06/03/2008 14:24

How did you get on with the blood tests?

geekgirl · 06/03/2008 16:31

well, we're finally back home, taking blood was really, really awful - dd2 is very difficult to stick - she screamed and cried and pleaded ('no thankyou, no thankyou!' ) and eventually wet herself

got the results and it's just this virus. The inflammation markers were quite high so she must be pretty sore.

Oh bless her - no thankyou! DD3 just kicks with lethal accuracy.
I'm glad its just a virus, hope she starts to improve quickly xx
