Does anyone here have gallstones?

Does following a low fat diet til surgery help with pains?

Thanks

I waited 8 months to have surgery. I strictly ate a very low fat diet for all of that time and never had another big attack after my first one (which was horrendous). I got the odd bit of liw-level grumbly pain if I accidentally ate something a bit higher in fat. I limited myself to 10g of fat per sitting, which seemed to work. It was bloody tedious though!

I don't have gallstones anymore as I had my gallbladder removed. However, when I did, I didn't really find that a low-fat diet helped - I had fairly constant pain no matter what. But they did find that my gallbladder itself wasn't really doing a great job.
