If not plantar fasciitis then what? Painful! Pic sorry

I have been treated for PF for around 9 months. Had sport physio massage to foot and calves and got new running shoes (not that I can run on it yet but try to wear these vile runners in dead salmon colour !) Pain was mainly to my heel. I had three sessions of shock wave and the heel seemed immediately better. But a couple of days later the pain started up again but higher up as per the pic. It hurts on too too almost like it's been stood on. It's so so sore. I'm hobbling when I walk unless I've been up a while and I feel about 104. Any similar experiences? What could it be ?!

No pic?

Can you get an MRI and get a diagnosis that way? It could be any number of injuries.

Heel spur?

That area is more the sesamoids. Have you had a scan to rule out any fractures? I had awful pain for years and was fobbed off.....finally got an MRI and turns out I had a couple of metatarsal fractures. Nowt to do at that point as they had been there so long.... but by keeping active and working through the pain, I barely have any flare ups any more. Took ages though.

So look up sesamoiditis as well...

I wonder about Bursitis. Rather that PF. I had steroid injection which hurt like really crazy hurt but provided some good relief. Longer term changing to wide shoes with flexible soles helps. They need some padding too but with flexibility. I wore slight too narrow boots a week ago for 10 minutes. My feet are almost better.
Good luck hope you find the thing that helps.
