Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with PND. I have reflux but I'm on medication for it. I am also taking my inhalers, anti histamines, using a sterioid nasal spray and a humidifier and I'm still constantly counting, sometimes I feel like I'm choking and losing my breath, my clearing my throat all the time and it's so sore. Are there any other suggestions? Ty

sorry to hear you’re struggling. As you probably know, ppis only mask symptoms of reflux and won’t stop pnd. Everything you’re doing should be in conjunction with a low acid diet like The Acid Watcher Diet by Dr Aviv. If things are really bad, and you can afford to lose some weight (not in an insulting way, but if you’re underweight or slim, be careful), Dropping Acid by Dr Koufman. They both come from the same principle that if you eat foods with ph above 5 (4 when you have control of symptoms), you will start to heal any inflammation. I assume you’ve had the tests like endoscopy or h pylori testing as well as certain things can be ruled out.
if you really can’t do the diets then the main factors are no smoking or vaping, no drinking any fizzy drinks (really only water or certain herbal
allowed), no chocolate or caffiene or raw onion/garlic, greasy food or heavily spiced.
good luck!!

Bi Yan pian. A Chinese medicine. I was looking for a remedy for pnd and read on Mumsnet about someone's partner taking these for chronic sinusitis. She said they worked and stopped the sinusitis from reoccurring.
I ordered them from eBay (4 boxes £25) and started taking them. Within a couple of days I noticed a difference but kept taking them until I ran out.
I now no longer have pnd.
They worked fantastically well.
I know it's slightly scary ordering medicine from eBay etc but I had been quite desperate and I really can recommend these.

I have just started taking Bi Yan Pian, after reading they work on here, worth a try.

I have had PND for 14years,even had surgery, nothing has worked,so will see what happens with these. Also ordered them on eBay.

@LadyWiddiothethird Please report back and let us know if they help. I have been told I have allergic rhinitis and a constantly runny nose and would love to know if they work as I have tried all sorts to no avail.

Resentful2023 · 03/10/2023 15:40

@LadyWiddiothethird any luck with those? Getting my annual awful autumn flare up and the pnd is still going strong despite rinses, betnesol etc.

Resentful2023 · 05/10/2023 15:53

I have Bi Yan Pian ordered and on the way. I'll put updates here after a week or so (or sooner if anything good happens!).

mrsfeatherbottom · 05/10/2023 17:23

I could have written your post - I have had a cough now for years and it really gets me down. Dying to hear if this remedy works!

LadyWiddiothethird · 06/10/2023 00:58

Been taking the Bi Yan Pian for 12 days,so far it has made no difference. Will check in at end of the 4 weeks.

AutumnFroglets · 06/10/2023 01:28

Sounds very interesting. I've had it for years and nothing worked. If any poster finds one that works would they be willing to either supply the website link or brand/seller please?

JamieJ93 · 06/10/2023 02:15

It sounds like it could be "silent reflux"
I have some of similar symptoms
Do you have swallowing problems?
If yes, I'd push for a speech and language assessment.
I have had 2x previous emergency surgical tracheostomies and I have Silent relfux.
I'm on lanzsoprazole 30mg x2 daily and famotidine at night, I'm also on gaviscon ADVANCE after every meal and before bed

Resentful2023 · 08/10/2023 10:37

I got the Bi Yan Pian, took the first dose and felt very sleepy after. Did Google translate on the package (should have done this first!) and it contains chlorphenamine acid, which is what's in Piriton, and that makes me drowsy. So maybe it works because it's a strong antihistamine. I got it from Care Cure in Ireland who have a couple of TCM clinics here.

I’m lactose intolerant, if I eat chocolate or ice cream etc, I am like this the following day. Try avoiding it for a couple of weeks and see if it helps.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/10/2023 21:42

fellow sufferer checking in. Cutting dairy really helped me actually - I have both reflux and sinus issues. I have lactose free milk/cheese, coconut yoghurt, and don’t eat chocolate (more of a savoury person anyway really) at all. I try to avoid tomatoes and red meat, plus very spicy things.

I take Fexofenadine 180 daily, plus Omeprazole, do a Nielmed sinus rinse before bed (otherwise often wake up coughing) and cycle between different prescription nasal sprays. I’m currently on Dymista.
