DD very smelly feet - help!

Please help. My primary aged DD has the most awful smelling feet. It has been getting worse for a few months now. She showers twice a day and wears cotton socks and leather shoes to school (school uniform requirements). She eats a good diet. Does not have any health issues.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you checked for a fungal infection.

Is she washing her feet or just letting water run over them? I would try some dettol soap and properly scrub them

Marie2023 · 18/09/2023 10:10

@ShadyPaws thats a good point actually 😄. I will ask her.

Does she has sweaty feet?
wash socks with detol soap
get some spray for the inside of the shoes - pharmacy ones for feet
theres even some talcum like powder that you can get (again, special for shoes)

Does she eat a lot of dairy? Apparently a milk intolerance can cause smelly feet.

No, we’re vegan, but thanks for the info.

That won't be it then! 😉

I didn't know that, once puberty hit, to wash yourself you had to actually scrub with soap / shower gel. No one ever told me.

I started to get quite smelly I'm Year 7 and my mum despaired, "BUT you have a bath every night!" Yeah but lying there in water reading Judy Blume doesn't get rid of armpit sweat! Once mum figured it out it was never an issue again (other than my "innie" belly button which I never washed, but it "popped out" during pregnancy and was VILE.)
