For context, I'm 36, don't drink alcohol and exercise regularly. I've had reflux all my adult life but usually only feel a flare up maybe once a month or less. I was also diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 18 but apart from painful periods I don't notice it. I remember waking up more than a week ago feeling really light with a flat stomach. Last weekend, I ate a lot of food that upsets my stomach like cheeseburger and sweet corn in cob, cake etc. I'd usually get some indigestion or a bit of bloating but not to this degree. I've had stomach discomfort continuously for 8 days now. Initially I thought it's period bloating related but my period finished 5 days ago. I'd wake up everyday like my stomach isn't empty even when I'm hungry. Feels like there's constantly gas in there, burping a lot. Some days I go to toilet for number 2 up to 5x a day. No blood in stool and it can be small amounts of poo. I don't eat much dairy at all to begin with. Started doing a low fodmap diet for a week now but don't feel any different. Been taking probiotic supplements daily too. The bloating is persistent but there will be fluctuations e.g wake up feeling not empty but will be severely bloated after lunch and feel a little less bloated after I go to toilet or release some gas. I drank peppermint tea to help with bloating but that aggravates my reflux badly.
I'll call my GP on Monday however given it's been less than a couple of weeks, they'd historically fob me up or give me Omeprazole and link it to reflux. Anyone else had this? Really worried given never had anything like this for a week.
