Does Prozac stop working? What to do then?

Name changed. I’m on 20mg fluoxetine and in my 4 month with it. The first 2-3 months I can say I certainly felt my ‘fight or flight’ response/extreme anxiety/rage emotions were suppressed but this last week or 2 I am again feeling like I am having extreme reactions to triggers. Should the dose be increased? Should I ask for something else? I’m 40- might this be the start on menopause (although to be fair I have taken medication off and on since my 20’s for severe depression and on different occasions for similar mood issues)
need some advice/experiences please

I found similar with prozac and indeed went up to 40mg which helped a little more. Unfortunately in the end I found it just didn't work for me completely. Equally my mums been on 40mg for years and wouldn't be without it. Sometimes it's a little trial and error and it may be that a dose increase does the trick. Wishing you all the luck!
