Hi All
I am having a large cyst (and poss some liver) removed and have been told I will be in HDU for 5-7 days after for recovery.
I have no experience of HDU and all I know is that they have higher resources and more checks.
What is it generally like? Are patients more likely to be asleep? Can you have visitors?
I find the unknown scary so would like to know how it differs from a normal ward? I was in a general ward before Christmas which was fine although they were constantly 'waiting for the Doctor' and could only do the general checks on me.
