X-ray or not

Is it worth x-raying a historic sprain?

Rolled my ankle badly about 6 weeks ago. Made a dreadful noise, hideous pain, very sore, swollen and bruised for about a week but could hobble on it.

Clock forward and it's still sore, shadow of a bruise and swollen in the evenings. Is it worth showing it to someone or should I just man up? Thx

Do I just rock up at A&E? Doesn't feel right!

Hi @Onedayatatime22
Yes worth having it checked out, you can just walk into a&e. Hope your ankle gets better soon.

I’d avoid A& and either go to minor injuries or ask the GP for an X-ray referral. That way you just book a time for X-ray rather than wait several hours in A&E.

@Onedayatatime22 did you ever go ahead and get the x-ray? Curious as I'm in a similar position.

I went over on my ankle back end February beginning March, I’ve never bothered with getting it checked because the wait for a xray is ridiculous, even now if I’ve been walking around for a few hours it gets very painful and swells up, the side of my foot is still tender to touch and I’ve got to be mindful of what shoes to wear

I did! Went to a minor injuries place locally that a neighbour recommended. It was a sprain... and took another few months to heal fully. Patience required I'm afraid!
