Cervical Ectropion

Hi,
Just looking for a bit of reassurance! I had some spotting the morning after sex, fresh pink blood. Not very much, lasted about half an hour.

Just visited the GP and she’s had a look, told me my cervix is still a little bloody but it doesn’t look too worrisome! She said I may have cervical ectropion, although she can’t see any of the cervical cells on the ‘outside’.

I’m not on the pill, last smear was 18 months ago, all clear. Dr is writing a letter to the hospital to get their advice if they want to see me for more investigation or not.

Has anyone had ectropion but it wasn’t actually seen on an exam? I’m worrying that if it can’t actually be seen, then it’s not ectropion at all and something more sinister!

Thanks!

Hi I’ve had one for years, been poked and prodded by the doctors and it’s never been a problem. Sometimes I can feel it but that’s mostly after sex. My female doctor says she sees a lot of them and mostly all are ok.
